Oh architecture is so though. I don’t even remember what it’s like to have free time anymore! Just be sure you know it’s EXACTLY what you want before getting yourself tangled in this mess haha. I actually wanted (and still want) to study journalism initially but decided architecture would open more doors for me in the future. But I’m interning at a magazine publishing company for the time being to try out the whole journalist thing and it’s really fun! :)
January 2011
Excuse my lack of creativity, but how exactly does one make a “map” or a “diagram” from short stories? I’m sure there are many ways, but ABSTRACTLY how? Hooray for tumblr to help inspire me. Boo for another all-nighter :(
Hey Ina, I’m Tina from Thailand.
So sweet of you to introduce yourself :)
it’s not a theme.. I just changed the default colors lol
almost done with my first design project/competition of second semester… FINALLY. Booohoooo for dark circles all over again.
Gotta say sorry to honey again for the short notice, but I actually enjoyed dinner with two of the most important men in my life :)
And I laugh at how nervous and panicked he was when he found out dad wanted to take us to dinner. There’s a first for everything!
So I started my internship at BK Magazine two days ago and it was awesome! I was really nervous sitting in the waiting area while everyone was out to lunch, but once my editorial department manager helped me get things started, I was on a roll :)
Luckily I had a co-intern sitting next to me the entire day, so she helped my n00b ass out a lot. I started off finding interesting news stories from Thai newspapers and such to translate and summarize in English for the “Last Week in Reality” column… stories about PE teachers getting killed by wasps in a bathroom and a 70 year old lady getting raped twice by a drunk truck driver. All that good stuff.
I also got registered in the magazine’s news sharing website so I can post any article I write online for the art department to lay out. Nifty.
And it’s interesting how BK workers keep each other updated the entire day with Skype. The editor and everyone below him joke around about things we should and shouldn’t put in the next issue and such. Nothing is really serious and they always try to keep a sarcastic, gimmicky theme to every issue :)
Then at around 4pm, the co-intern and I left the office to go meet a writer who was interviewing Fuckling Hero, a pretty famous rapper who was doing a press conference with a bunch of other musicians for their upcoming concert. It was amazing how easy it was for reporters to just go sit next to these celebrities and joke around and shit. I got to talk to some guys from the Thai indie band 25 Hours and they invited me and my co-intern to see their show at some club that night, hookups and everything granted. VIP statussss haaaay ;) too bad I had to go back to a night full of model making :(
We headed back to the office to finish up some more writing and called it a day around 6pm. Tiring shiaaat, but so fun! I really wish I could go intern everyday, but school schedule is limiting it to only Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. Boo.
Yippy for my second day tomorrow! <3
